Grunge Fitness | OOTD

I'm worse at what I do best
And for this gift I feel blessed
Our little group has always been
And always will until the end
-- Nirvana, "Smells like Teen Spirit"

Please don't laugh at my hair blowing in the wind photo, I was forced to do this, I promise!

Red Plaid Shirt - Thrifted | Grey Sweatshirt -Thrifted | Army Green Vest - American Eagle
Striped Leggings - Wet Seal | Grey and Yellow Socks- Target | Mustard Beainie -Target
White Chuck Taylors - Shoe Carnival  & DIY'd

While taking my pictures today, my brother called me a hobo fitness instructor. My family calls my style bum chic while I like to think of it as urban grunge. It's taking me quite a long time to grab a hold of my own personal style. Throughout my teenage years, I've bounced around the fashion spectrum from urban jock to prep school chic to brand name junkie to punk pop rock-star.  I know my closet is happy that I've finally settled on a style so it isn't constantly getting rearranged and cleared out. I have finally decided to accept the fact that I am a 90's kid through and through.  I am perfectly comfortable in Kurt Cobain worthy grunge outfit. I'm so inspired by how free spirited all the rockstars were back then and how they weren't afraid to be themselves. I pride myself on being cut from a different cloth and being an individual is so important to me. Don't get me wrong though, I do follow trends but I tend to make them my own. I don't think being mainstream is horrible but I do like to explore things that aren't quite as popular with the masses. Although grunge tops my list as favorite style of dress, I do not ignore the other trends made popular in the 90's like the silk Versace-esque shirts we wear nowadays or a chunky Dr. Marten boots. I totally adore ripped up denim, acid wash and high waisted anything. I have definitely grown a slight obsession with all things neon. I also dabble a little in Valley Girl wear like plaid skirts, knee high socks and oxfords or something from Blossom like hiking boots, overalls and a fanny pack. I guess I'll just always be stuck in the 90's. Tell me what decade best describes your personally style ...

One Girl's Strugggle to Take it Easy| OOTD

Life moves pretty fast.
If you don't stop
and look around once in awhile,
 you could miss it.
-- Ferris Bueller's Day Off

"Comme des Fuckdown" beanie - Ebay | Red buffalo plaid shirt - Thrifted
Save Ferris tee- Target | Grey Skinny Jeans -Levi's
Platform "Chuck Taylors" - Max Star

Today has been a pretty chill day for me. The weather has definitely warmed up so I can comfortably walk out of the house with just a flannel and shirt on without having to drown in layers like a New Yorker. My dreamboat art teacher talked about the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" in class last week and I remembered that I owned this shirt and that I hadn't watched the movie in ages. I feel like the stereotypical grunge art student in this outfit and I absolutely love the laid-back vibe of this outfit. I finally recieved my ASAP Rocky inspired "Comme des Fuckdown' beanie in the mail this past weekend and it has literally been glued to my head. I'm glad I opted for the grey beanie with white letters because It contrasts with my hair quite well. My favorite part of this whole outfit is my shoes. These babies are to die for. They are seriously the most comfy platform/flatform shoes I own. You can find them here ...

Camoflauged Misfit | OOTD

Her attitude Rihanna, she get it from her Mama
She jiggy like Madonna, but she trippy like Nirvana
-- A.$.A.P Rocky, "Fashion Killa"

Anytime I can get my brother to take my pictures, he always finds a way to capture all my funny moments so enjoy me making faces and dancing! Check him out on INSTAGRAM

Jean Vest- Thrifted & DIYed | Grey hoodie - Ralph Lauren | Camo shirt - Thrifted
Dark Wash Jeans- Levi's | Tan Socks - Delia's | Neon Orange Vans

Today was one of those days where I woke up feeling extremely lazy and uninspired. It doesn't help that it's still freezing outside and I'd rather sit at home in my jammies all day then put in effort into my physical appearance for class. On days like these I go to my Inspiration wall and pray to the Fashion Gods for divine intervention. I saw an old picture I took this past summer of me wearing these neon orange vans and some tan socks and decided to do a winter variation. These vans are sure to make a statement no matter what I wear and satisfy my current obsession with neon. They're loud and obnoxious and scream "look at me, look at me" (plus i don't have to worry about not being seen at night). With this camo and neon on I felt like a deer hunter or whatever it is that people hunt around here. This denim vest is probably my favorite item in  my closet not because it's super hip and trendy but because it was the first clothing item I ever DIY'd. It began my exploration into fashion and helped to shape my personal style. Plus it is pretty darn dope.

In other news, I am currently addicted to A.S.A.P Rocky's new Album, Long. Live. A$AP .. you can buy a copy here ...
I have two favorite songs besides F*ckin Problem at the moment. The first is Wild for the Night, it's definitely one of those getting ready for a night out kinda jams. It'll have you feeling ready for whatever the night has to throw on you.
The second song is Fashion Killa. I absolutely love ASAP Rocky's personal style and how he isn't afraid to be different and this song definitely shows that he knows his designers and is up on the fashion game. I had this song loud and on repeat this morning while getting dressed... I left both songs below so tell me what ya think

1983 | OOTD

I've been here looking dynamite

alone against the wall

girls like you give it all so cold
-- Neon Trees, "1983"

Olive Green parka - American eagle | Neon Sweater - Target |Grey Jeans - F21
Cheetah Chelsea Booties - Target | Emerald Green Beanie - Target

It has been crazy cold in Tennessee these past couple days and I am dreaming of the sun shinning down on me, a cool breeze, my toes in the sand and a drink in my hand. I have a small obsession with anything neon at the moment and this sweater is an indicator of that. I didn't actually realize that I was wearing this many shades of green but I love how they compliment each other. These grey jeans are a favorite of mine and were bought when grey was my obsession (definitely during the whole Fifty Shades of Grey hype era). I seriously think cheetah shoes are my weakness; plus they're the only logical way I can sneak animal print into my wardrobe. That being said these boots are super comfy and add the right amount of sass to this outfit.

I usually have a theme song for my outfits and this ootd is no exception. I first heard this Neon Trees song while shopping and instantly shazam'd it. I have been in love with it ever since. Take a listen...

Printed Misfit | OOTD

Oh you know me,
Everybody knows that I'm crazy
Sticks and stones' they never break me

Faux Fur Coat- Thrifted | Denim Shirt - Thrifted | Ikat Leggings - Forever 21|
Grey socks - Delia's | Red Converse Chuck Taylors

I had been searching and searching for the perfect fur coat all December and HELLO! I found it! I love dark colors so when i saw this black fur coat at goodwill a few weeks back, it had to go home with me. The fit is fantastic and the color helps me from looking like a old school pimp. I adore these leggings. I have a thing for abstract prints especially in black and white. If I had to pick one pair of shoes to wear for the rest of my life it would be chuck taylors. These shoes have seriously been dragged to hell and back but I love them. What shoes can you seriously not live without?

Today was the first day of the semester. I'm quite happy with my classes so far. I hope everyone has a great start of the semester. I have seriously been jamming to Rihanna's new cd, Unapologetic. She is my girl crush! I am seriously in love with her. Watch Out Chris Brown, She's Mine!

One of my fav songs is Half of Me ... Take a Listen
