Live Slow, Die Old | OOTD

There were so many of us who would
have to live with things done
and things left undone that day.
Things that did not go right,
things that seemed okay at the time
because we could not see the future.
If only we could see
the endless consequences
that result from our
smallest actions.
but we can't know better until
knowing better is useless

-- John Green, "Looking for Alaska"

Tribal blazer- Thrift'd
Role Model's 'Sturdy Wings' tee - Thrift'd
White Jean Shorts- Thrift'd
Blue Suede Smoking Loafers - Versonna Accessories

We all have our vices and mine happens to be pop culture reference tees. Anytime I see one anywhere I am dying to add to my wardrobe. Role Models happens to be one of those movies that had me laughing from start to stop so when I saw this 'Sturdy Wings' tee in goodwill, it was as good as sold. This tee is amazing because it displays a shirt worn in the movie instead of a shirt with the movie itself on it. The best part about wearing pop culture tees that aren't so iconic is when someone actually notices. This girl today stared at my chest for a solid 5 minutes then busted out laughing. We then had a cute little chat about how much we loved 'Role Models' and such. I love things that aren't so blatant. If i had to pick my favorite shorts at the moment, it would be these. They're just effortless. I took a cue from Elvis here and threw on my blue suede shoes. These smoking loafers cost me $9, what a steal? Right? Any who to complete my outfit, I threw on this funky looking tribal blazer I got from goodwill ages ago. I love how the colors used are jewel tones and look rich and vibrant. Today's outfit was perfect for hanging out with my bestie, eating and shopping which today contained lots of.

Picture me, rolling with my bestie, windows down, music blasting, one hand on the wheel, foot hanging out the window.... now tell me what song you hear? if you guessed anything other than "Sunset" by Kid Ink, you were ohhhh soooo wrong. This song makes me think of beaches and summer time fun. The vibe is SoCal and I love it. Everyone know Cali holds a place in my heart so close your eyes and listen to this song while picturing a California Sunset ...

She Loves Adventure | OOTD

she's like new york city
she works beautifully
the yellow cabs racing
nothing slow pacing
just like her thoughts
there's crime and dirt
just like there's pain
and hurt in her heart
the noise sounds
almost as beautiful
as the words that
come out of her mouth
there are so many parts of her
but nothing is missing
she is so whole
the world's heart the city has stolen
and so many hearts it has broken
the city where dreams come true
the city where you walk to the corner store and someone's singing the blues
she's like the city
loud, mysterious,
 electrifyingly beautiful,
fast pacing, never ending
she's just like new york city

Got my Daith pierced!

Google+ made a gif of me ... how cool is this?

Tribal Elephant Shirt- Thrift'd
Acid Wash Jeans - JCP
Minnetonka Moccasin booties

Every feel like running away, whether it's to the big city to chase your dreams or a small remote town to become a hippie ... I get this urge often to run far away and never look back. But I know that the past will always catch up to me. This outfit kinda expresses my wish to be a hippie, i think. This elephant shirt screamed majestic and royalty to me as soon as my eyes landed on in goodwill ages ago. Elephants were my favorite animal growing up so this screamed to the 5 year old in me. The best part of summer is throwing on a pair of shorts, honestly if I could wear shorts everyday of my life I would. Now as for these moccasin booties, they are honestly one of my favorite pair of booties, they just add their own vibe to any outfit I pair them with. Now I'm not sure if I was going for African or American with this outfit but since I'm both, i think its a win-win situation.

Every hear a song and immediately fall in love. Well I do this often and currently I have "Groov" by Brothers from Another ft. Asher Roth on repeat. It's like the perfect summer song. The beat seems to blend perfectly with the wind from my rolled down windows. Now the hook of this song hit my way of thinking head on. I never want to be a stuffy old suit, it's a fear of mine . So i think I'll just turn this up, roll the windows down and just groooooooooooooooooooooooov....

The Q.U.E.E.N of Spring | OOTD

I didn't really have
any ambition at all.
I was born very far
from where I was
supposed to be,
and so,
I'm on my way
home
-- Bob Dylan

Budweiser Shirt- Target | Grey Bodycon skirt- Forever21
Ohio State Buckeyes Nike Blazers

I love springtime! This outfit is so simple and so perfect. I can definitely see this being my springtime uniform. I really don't have plans for today other than hanging out with some friends and maybe getting dinner so this outfit allows me to be cute, casual and comfortable. I have been dying to buy a Budweiser shirt for awhile now. I don't know what it is about the logo that is absolutely to die for but I adore it. The red blue and white logo seems so American flag-esque and I love that trend. I am so obsessed with wearing over-sized shirts as dresses. I think it looks so effortlessly chic. These dope Nike Blazers have literally been in my closet for years and today is my first time wearing them. I love finding things in my closet and falling in love with them all over again.

Janelle Monae is such an awe-inspiring artist, not only is she talented but she has that classy chic, sexy without trying, I'm just gonna do me while y'all try to imitate each other kinda vibe. I absolutely adore her style; it just fits her. Any who I don't remember how I heard her new track "Q.U.E.E.N" featuring the one and only Erykah Badu but I was hooked instantly. I find myself randomly singing the song  and I love the message behind the lyrics and video.
And if you didn't know, The Booty Don't Lie ...

22 and a Vet in the Game | OOTD

Try to learn to breathe deeply,
really to taste food when you eat,
and when you sleep, really to sleep.
Try as much as possible
to be wholly alive with all your might,
and when you laugh, laugh like hell.
and when you get angry,
get good and angry.
TRY TO BE ALIVE,
you'll be dead soon enough.
-- Ernest Hemingway

The face I make when talking to my nephew ...

He brings out my silly side.

Neon Pink Miami Heat Snap back | Alan from Hangover Shirt - Thrift'd
White Shorts - Thrift'd | Teal Stripped Socks - Target
Feather and Fringe Moccasin Booties - Minnetonka

Happy Birthday to Me ... Happy Birthday to Me. Happy Birthday Dear Siatta, Happy Birthday to Me!!

You guessed right, Today is my day of birth. Today I turned 22. Wow babygirl is getting old. I always make a big deal out of my birthday but this year I decided to tone it down a bit and just relax. I have been so busy this whole entire year that it felt good to just relax and spend time with family and friends. I am so grateful for the many blessings given to me and for the chance to live my life the way I want. I have so many plans for this upcoming year and I hope I can see all of them accomplished. Today I wanted to be comfortable and wear something that totally captured my personality. So this spunky outfit was born. I am such a sucker for Pop Culture graphics on t-shirts. I have watched The Hangover way too many times and it is definitely a favorite movie of mine so when I saw Alan on a thrift adventure, I decided to make him mine. I used to cringe at the thought of wearing white bottoms but now I welcome them with open arms. I can see me wearing white shorts a lot this summer. Everyone knows I have an obsession with socks, and this pair happens to be my favorite. These booties scream summer to me and they were not the expected shoe pairing to this outfit. Lastly I am wearing a Neon Pink Miami Heat snap back instead of a beanie. * Pause for shock and uproar * I know,I know, I must be sick. This hat is to die for though so I put the beanie away for today. Change can be a good thing.

Like I said earlier, I am 22 years young. Taylor Swift has a song called "22" and I think it just nailed how I feel about this upcoming year of life on the head. It's cute and upbeat as a T. Swift song should be and the lyrics are catchy. This song is definitely my new ringtone and will continue to be for the rest of this year. So I don't know about you but I'm feeling 22 ...
