Thirst Traps | Beat That Face

I did a little bit of retail therapy and let's just say I was a bad girl. Ulta was having a buy one get one half off sale on all Nyx products and I went a little bit cray. My skin is super oily, acne-prone and always going crazy so I've been switching around my skincare products as well so a splurge was necessary. Next I went to my guilty pleasure store, Target, and I seriously can never go in there for one item only and walk out with only that one item. After that I visited Claire's which is one of the only places I can purchase jewelry because of my sensitive skin.
Here's a cute little picture of all I bought.

If you want a post on my oily, acne-prone skin and how I go to war with it just leave a comment below!

Plaid Jeans, White Shirt | OOTD

“So many people glorify and romanticize “busy”. I do not. I value purpose. I believe in resting in reason and moving in passion. If you’re always busy and moving, you will miss important details. I like the mountain. Still, but when it moves, lands shift and earth quakes.”
-- Joseph Cook

Two of the most timeless pieces you can have in your wardrobe is a leather jacket and a white shirt. I decided to wear both. The weather has been crazy as of late so I'm not sure what to wear. It seems like we're having all seasons of weather in just the span of one week.
If you've noticed, I did a little hair makeover. I got some bangs. I am definitely getting used to them but I love them just the same.
I find some of the best music on soundcloud from my favorite youtube channels. Here's a sweet little mix by backstroke. using the song Closer by Tegan and Sara. It's just a feel good song.

If you want a post about where I find all the music I listen to, leave a comment below.

Pretty Hurts | Beat That Face

Lately it seems as if I'm always trolling around the beauty section of Target . It's a terrible habit,  I know and look what it does to my bank account ( i know understand what King Bey means by Pretty Hurts). I have seriously been on a skin care, hair care and make-up binge lately. It's like I can't stop buying products. Below is purchases I've made recently!

I have been dying over L`oreal newly branded hair care, their new packaging is minimalist and chic. I love black and gold together. It also helps that their products are the bomb diggity and don't cost a fortune. Next up is my favorite face cleansing wipes from Yes to Cucumbers. I've been trying to wear more eye make-up lately so I went ahead and bought the Maybelline Clean Express eye make up remover. Also in the make up range is a new blush from black radiance that I bought on a whim so I could get free shipping on a Target purchase. I picked up a few new eye shadow brushes from ELF cosmetics as well as a new one for my contouring powder. Lastly, I also restocked up on the loofah exfoliating soap bars from Earth Therapeutics which smell amazing and leave my skin super soft.

Red State of FLY| OOTD

Just be a tough act to follow,
you know...
a free spirit with a wild heart.
-- Miguel, "Simple Things"

As I'm looking at all these pictures, all I can think is how awkward I look. It has been way way too long since I've done an outfit post and boy have I missed them. Winter is definitely not my friend and I am so happy to have spring weather.

If they're is one trend that I have been wearing to death it would be monochromatic outfits. I love how well these two shades of grey play off each other. Spring to me is all about  wearing neutrals and adding a pop of color here and there. My "Red October" vans do just the trick in adding some major flair to this outfit. With the weather warming up, I'm slowly making my transition from beanies to snapbacks, five panels and bucket hats. This neon pink Miami Heat is my favorite snapback of all time. I am beyond psyched to style up some spring outfits.

Have you ever heard a small clip of a song on a TV show, movie or even while shopping in a store and instantly had to know what it was. Well while watching Girls, (which is literally my fave show ever)  Miguel's song Simple Things played in the credits and just know that I have been listening to it nonstop since then. This is definitely one of those summer time, windows down, music blasting, singing at the top of your lungs and scaring small children kind of songs. This will definitely be on my summer playlist.

New in | Beat That Face

I'm not actually sure when I became a product junkie but I blame all of my favorite YouTube beauty gurus for making me take notice of what I put on my skin. It seems like every single day, I'm learning more and more about skincare. This past weekend I went shopping with my best friend and we hit up my favorite places to buy beauty products, Sephora and Ulta. We also made a stop at Mac. Plus a package that I ordered ages ago found its way to my door step.

Here's all my goodies!

I repurchased Urban Decay's De Slick Make Up Setting Spray which helps
set my make up and helps me from looking too matte or like a cake face!

Next up I purchased Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer,
which I've heard so many people rave about.
I am on a search for the perfect primer and I figured I've give this one a try!

There is nothing on Earth like a lipstick from Mac.
Their colors are so pigmented and last for hours.
I picked up Candy Yum Yum which is a vibrant pink, perfect for spring!

I've heard nothing but great reviews on the sleek contour kit, especially for darker skin tones. I believe Sleek is discontinuing this product and replacing it with the new Face Form Palette.
